KTLA is airing a two-hour special on Sa****ay, September 29 at 8pm, called "Planet LA," that looks at what changes are in store for Los Angeles in the coming years.
We'd like to hear your thoughts about the future of Los Angeles -- what you think the city will be like 5, 10 or even 50 years from now. What kinds of things are you involved with that have an impact on LA's future? |

Well the US dollar is going in the dumper. One out of 100 houses are 90+ days late on their house payments,
8 other countries will not even take the US dollar as currency any more????? If our Gov. don’t wake up soon……….. I see the 20’s coming back. WestCoastHunters.com theoutdoorsforum.com Lil Rod & Reel Hooks & Bullets |

I just watched the show. I think it was dishonest to not really reveal the illegal alien (the correct legal term) problem this city and region has at this time. Instead, they allow the repeated use of the term 'immigrant' when it is not correct for the vast number of persons living here that are breaking the basic law of the country. Crossing the borders and living here without permission from the government is against the law.
Compounding this problem are the parents living here with their kids in LAUSD, but not willing to even do the basics of assimilation...like learning the language! I am sick of watching interviews of people that have lived here for years, sometimes decades, and still can't speak a word of American English, thus needing a translater. No wonder why their kids are having problems in school! America is called the melting pot. One of the reasons for that term is that while legal inmmigrants retained their culture, they would also learn the history and the language of this country. Getting back to Planet LA, it was so one sided, it was not even funny. How could they talk about the gang problem without even mentioning that a good portion of the gangs consist of illegial aliens. Regarding the multiple families living in one room or apartment in 3rd world conditions, the solution is going back to their own country then work through the system legally like my friends did for 7 years to become citizens. They did not take shortcuts, nor did my great-grandfather when he came to this great country. Rents are high due to supply and demand. If most or all of the illegal aliens leave (counting now into the millions just for Southern California), then demand goes down, then likewise, rental prices. All of what I am stating is not politics or racism, but simple economics and patriotism. I do not think the show really coverd both sides of this issue, but not surprising by the typical liberal media. Love the City but have concerns about it. |
