KTLA has brought us lame, totally irresponsible and intelligence-insulting so-called "stories" like the "Ready Your Betty" story and others during ratings sweeps periods. And this has happened at other times of the year as well. These stories do a grand total of ZERO to inform us, the viewers. These stories tend to be put on the air at the suggestion of media consultants who generally have no real connection to the actual lives of viewers and whose research tends to be skewed and inaccurate regarding the needs and habits of its audience in order to placate advertisers. Meantime, we are facing an economic crisis the level of which has not been seen since the Great Depression, wars on two fronts and a rise strained race relations that needs to be addressed and solved.

Question:
Given all of this, do you think that it is high time that KTLA fire its consultants and hire new consultants who will actually concentrate on news and urge Channel 5 to do more in-depth, investigative pieces that used to make it the envy of the entire broadcast journalism industry?

Choices:
Strongly agree
Somewhat agree
Neutral
Somewhat disagree
Strongly disagree

With all do respect, there are plenty of other sources from where you can get news. KNBC is a very stoic station.
I agree that the "Betty" story was in bad taste, but I'm not going to call Time Warner and have it taken off cable.

Fenarkleman, you can change the channel. I am sure there are other more accurate and interesting news broadcasts you can watch. It seems this station is not for you buddy. And I am not saying this as a criticism, just a suggestion to move on. It is not your thing, but it seems to amuse many others and I am sure the ratings are what the consultants go by. I have no connection to KTLA I just like posting here and you can continue to also, but maybe rely on some other outlet to get your news.

I vote to send Fenarkleman's thong up the flagpole and dry shave his "Betty".
