I was listening to the news as reports came in about corporate executives and the excesses, labeled “perks”. I just wanted to speak about military officers, Army reserve members who are just as bad as the corporate execs. In these times of economic strains, it is appalling to me, when I see officers misusing funds for “training” at trendy upscale resorts in Las Vegas, Phoenix to play golf, get-away in luxury, when there are adequate facilities, such as the Joint Training Forces Base in Los Alamitos.

Retirement ceremonies are held at luxury hotels, resorts instead of military facilities where the cost would be considerable less, and then flying members from around the country to resorts where the cost to taxpayers is more than it should be.

I would like to see these practices end, and military, especially reserve members who are not deployed, and in many cases have never been deployed, misappropriating the valuable resources, that could be better put to use for things like the re-entry of wounded Soldiers and their families.

Why should perfectly adequate military bases sit idle, while members use luxury resorts at taxpayer expense?
