KTLA once set the standard by which local and national news programs strived to achieve. Hal work effortlessly to bring credible, thoughtful and quality news to Southern Californians. His replacement fails to meet even the most basic skills and characteristics required of an anchor or co-anchor. He is simply another nice face capable of reading a TelePrompTer. Its time for a mature newsman or newswoman to take the helm.

Question:
Is a more mature and capable anchor person needed at KTLA Prime News at 10 ?

Choices:

It would better If all the Ancors stay on the issue being reported and not broadcast personal opinions or get into arguments. We want to here news not opinions and arguuments. KTLA 5 was Great while Hal Fishman was there. The Rating Went down after HAL past-away and others left.

KCAL 9 and ABC7 have better crews.

Carlos Amezcua was perfect for the ten-o'clock anchor position. Though I know many disagree with me, IMHO Mr. Miller was a good second choice, though I believe he could use a little more seasoning. Frank Buckley would do well in the slot but then the Morning "Show" would decline into complete uselessness.

Whomever was responsible for the loss of Mr. Amezcua should never be allowed to work at a news channel again...ever. That was simply the most short-sighted and stupid move one could make at a local station.

Before they seat on the anchor's chair they should have field experience... Frank would be a lot better at 10pm.

I agree with most of what you say, except when you state that Hal's replacement can read a tele-prompter. Emmit Miller cannot read a tele-prompter. This causes him to come across like he went to the William. Shatner. school. of. phrasing.

And to think that this is the same station that once brought us the likes of Hal Fishman, Warren Wilson, Stan Chambers, soon-to-leave Marta Waller, etc.

Yeah, KTLA, why don't you try "growing a pair" and have an actual mature anchor who knows news and knows what he or she is actually doing?

Do you even recognize your responsibility to fairly and accurately inform Southern Californians?

Or have you just weakly abandoned your First Amendment responsibilities? If so, gee, thanks a lot for that.

Have some pride or sign off the air for good, KTLA.

And while you're at it, fire your lame consultants, too. That would be a great place to save some money.

Bring back Marta Waller!

Too many times BIG corporations feel that a "Young anchor female" will just fit the bill to what these "out-of-touch executives" fail to just NOT GET IT?

Experience brings on to the table so much more interesting programming and commentary than what some "Dumb-ill-witted" YOUNG substitutions seems to only try to do? Eeker

Some day Management will figure it out?,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,BUT,,,,,,,,,,,,Then again,,,,,,,,,,,,,(SADLY to Say) Roll Eyes,,,,,,,,,I'm not holding my Breath! Confused,,,,,,,,,,,,,,?

Yours Truly,
Ziggy~ Cool
